A biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition into a mysterious zone where the laws of nature don't apply.
I saw Annihilation this weekend. It’s a story of other-wordly gene-meddling. The creatures were bizarre, the story was well done. I enjoyed that throughout the movie, the premise remained plausible while pushing the limits. Recommended.
… set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
I have been excited to see this movie from the initial announcement and it didn’t disappoint. It was much different from the book, but was still a superb movie. I will be waiting, maybe for a long time, for the remake that more closely follows the book!
He develops a type of friendship with the dead body and discovers that he can manipulate the cadaver like a Swiss Army knife.
Just watched Swiss Army Man on Netflix. One of the most original movies I have seen in a very long time. The subject matter is … awkward, as is describing the film in almost any way that does it justice.
