Earth Lost

We call them the scum. They came from deep space. Creatures of claws and endless malice, they ravage the world.

I enjoyed book one of the series well enough to recommend it, but book two was difficult to finish. From the opening scene I was put off very much. Sparing more details, the narrative made too many leaps for my taste. It is science fiction, it isn’t going to be realistic, but some kind of logical consistency would have been nice.

I will not be reading the rest of this series.

Earth Alone

Emery must survive basic training, become a soldier, and finally face the aliens in battle.

Just finished Earth Alone by Daniel Arenson. The romance felt forced into an otherwise consistent story, which on second thought may be entirely consistent with the young lovers involved! Overall an enjoyable read. Recommended.
